Jack Reacher Movie Review

   After an ex-military sniper is accused of killing

five random victims, the lead homicide detective

attempts to extract a confession.  Instead the

accused simply writes, "Get Jack Reacher."

  The D.A. and the lead homicide detective agree they

need to find Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) and see if

there is any connection to their investigation.

News of the incident has already been discovered

by Reacher, who turns up initially to assist the D.A.'s

office, but soon joins the defense attorney, Helen Rodin 

(Rosamund Pike), becoming her lead investigator.

   There are great action scenes and one of the better

car chases seen on film in some time. The director was also

kind enough to spare the audience from any obligatory

romantic entanglements and stick to the detective work.

There are two excellent cameos in the movie by Robert Duvall

and Werner Herzog, who lend their talents  and significant

presence. 

  Rosamund Pike is a natural on the big screen and leaves

one wondering when we will see more of this talented

actress in the future.

  Tom Cruise delivers Jack Reacher, Lock, Stock, and Loaded

Barrel; however he does it so well, and with such little effort, 

that fans may question why he chose a role that easily could

have been done by those with less experience or ability.
