Looper Movie Review

   Looper is a sci-fi, action, thriller, ... or is it ?

Yes, Looper is a futuristic endeavor with illegal time

travel and a complex mix of characters. The special

effects are subtle and well done but are, at times, a

mere distraction from a story that demands your attention.

     When organized crime wants to get rid of someone,

they send the individual back thirty-years in time where

a hired assassin, a "looper," is there waiting to take

them out.

          Joe ( Joseph Gordon-Levitt ) is living life in the fast

lane. Partying, using drugs, and chasing women are just

a few of his past times.  All this changes when his next

target arrives and he discovers the target is his future

self, Old Joe ( Bruce Willis ). The elements of science fiction

and futuristic effects lure you in, but the underlying story

about sacrifice,loss, love, and lofty aspirations are what

make Looper a better journey than most.
