      Boston, where Paul Revere made his famous

midnight ride, has evolved into a thriving city built on

many principles evident even today.

        With nearby M.I.T. and Harvard, higher education

is an important part of Boston's history as well as it's

future.  Boston's major industries include fishing, electronics,

publishing, textiles, insurance, finance, and various 

manufacturing. The cost of living in the Boston area is higher

than the national average as are wages. Tourism is an

important part of the local economy and Boston is a

top tourist destination year after year. Boston is the  unofficial

capital of New England, and the Greater Boston area is home to

a diverse population of over 4.5 million people making it the

tenth largest metropolitan area in the U.S.

The people of Boston are a nice bunch but may be a

little slower to engage, however, it does not take a 

person long to feel like a local and the area is relatively

easy to navigate, and downtown there is a huge walk-

ability factor.

    If you are a seafood lover, make sure you don't leave

Boston without trying the local Lobster Bisque, oysters,

lobster,fried clams, and for dessert the famous Mike's 

Pastry.
